Thanks for that…I’ll just remember to tell my bipolar son “to be sane.” I’m sure that will solve the issue. When he threw the ladder down the stairs giving me a concussion, I should’ve reminded him to “be sane.” Come on…bipolar folks have a brain that fires “fight or flight” responses, and even with medication, they regret their choices. Love them…please…it is the one emotion they will know too little of.

I am surpriised she has only mentioned a few of the symptoms and missed many of the more important ones, especially as a so called expert. his was not very informative. She has not mentioned the excessive swings in energy levels between lows and highs, restlessness, goal focussed activities, hypersexulaity or sexual preoccupation, uncharacteristic spending, having lots if plans and ideas, aggression, euphoria interspersed with sudden rage and extreme irritability so typical of hypomania and mania,

I was diagnosed last year for bipolar in November. Suddenly, everything made sense as I reflected on my past. But I didn’t quite grasp the concept of the illness. Since then, I have been doing as much research as I can to really understand it. I also suffer from depression that goes back to the mid-80s. Last year, when I first started getting treatment for depression, as time went on, I knew that something else was wrong with me. I was really depressed, yet had all these other signs.
