I bought this for a friend who weights only 135 lbs. While this is rated as a baratric transfer bench it is the only one I could find online that had six legs. My friend had looked at the four legged benches and just felt they did not look sturdy (i.e. safe) enough. With this bench my friend feels increased security in her transfers and that alone is the best saftey benfit and decreases her fall risks. -

I ordered this since I was having foot surgery. It fits the bathtub well, and you can get into the tub with only one working foot. I only gave it 4 stars since the slot for the shower curtain is not very effective. Even with the curtain in the slot I still get some water in the floor. -

This bench feels very secure and does not flex under my extra weight. The extra cost for this heavy duty model is well worth it. And I was surprised that there was very little assembly required. This is an excellent purchase. -

I am handicapped and taking a shower is both exhausting and scarey. I recently purchased a plastic transfer bench. This bench has made it much easier for me to get into the shower and it has enabled me to sit down while showering and washing my hair. Getting in and out of the shower is no longer frightening since I am able to sit down and slide my legs into the shower as opposed to trying to climb over the side. I am very pleased with this bench and the independence it gives me. - Comment Feed for this Post

Two different family members were unable to get into the shower because of physical problems that made it near impossible to get over the side of the tub. This bench took care of the problem and we SO appreciate it!! Sturdily made so even large people can have confidence that it will hold them. Well worth the price–we’ve bought two of them for different family members. Would buy again, too.
