I posted this question earlier, but I realized how irrational I sounded- I was a bit worked up when I wrote it. I’m 18 years old and I was diagnosed with bulimia just over a year ago. I’ve been purging for about 3 years. I began purging as a coping mechanism after my close friend died.
I just want to get out so I can go to college next week. When I was admitted in June, I was promised by my parents that I would be out in time for college. Since I’ve entered, my doctor claims I’m “physically declining.” I feel much better at my current weight (would maybe like to lose more) but the doctors are putting me on a meal plan that is completely absurd! I’m 5’3″ and weighed 94lbs when I entered. Now I weigh 86. Although it “sounds” low, trust me, I don’t look that thin. Someone much thinner than me was discharged yesterday! I had always figured that I could leave on my 18th birthday, but when I tried, I was denied and told I was at the facility under a court order brought to the attention of the state by my parents.
I read online that a court order cannot be mandated without the patients’ knowledge/ their presence in court (if possible). I was definitely well enough to go to court and defend myself. I am upset that no one brought this to my attention- I don’t even understand how it could happen without my knowledge.
So, can I get out of here if I bring this up in court? Do I have a case?

no they still won’t let you out because at your height you should weigh between 130 to 155 and the court will see this even if you take it to court

Thats the thing with bulimia. You may think you look fat but in reality you are desperately thin.
Your bmi is 15.2, a healthy BMI is 18.6. Thats desperately underweight. To be healthy you have to be at least 105lbs. No doctor would discharge you in your current state and no court would allow it either and I cannot blame them. You best stay there and finish your treatment. I answered your question earlier as well.
If your weight keeps dropping like this then you could die. Its as blunt as that.

If you are worried about your education you needent be. Many education facilities will postpone your place for a year until you are recovered.For example when I was in the first year of my uni degree someone in my class had to leave the year with cancer. But they automatically advanced him a year so that he wouldnt miss anything. He is long since back and doing well

That you have been accused of posting this question over and over, that your questions/answers are private, AND that you are claiming to be in a secure facility being treated for a mental health disorder but still have (apparently) unlimited internet access seems to indicate you are a troll.
In the event this is at least a semi-legitimate question: What you read online is a bunch of bunk. A judge does not require your presence and you were given knowledge of the order when you attempted to leave. Obviously, the motion was filed and the order was granted before you turned 18. All the judge needs is the doctor’s opinion and the support of your parents. That’s it. Further, in several states the age of emancipation is 19.
And if you’ve lost nearly ten pounds at this facility, I would fully expect that no judge would even consider your request to for release.
