Question : I have a whirlpool tub with a new hot water heater and a whole house filter. Water’s rusty at end of fill why?
With new tub, new hot water heater and a whole house reverse osmosis filter seems it shouldn’t. Starts off clear and gets ruddy towards end of fill. What can I do to solve problem? Would appreciate any input – thanks.

Could be the pipes. Or you need a new filter element.
Whole house reverse osmosis? Didn’t know you could do that…
I’m sorry, but did you mean to say whole house reverse osmosis? I doubt you have this, maybe you mean water softener. If you treat your whole house with R.O water your R.O system will have to be the size of a car. not to mention if you have iron or copper pipes it will eat them. R.O water is low in total disolved solids (TDS) and is very agressive to metals other than stainless steel. I think you have iron in your water and when it goes into your tub it’s reacting with the air and oxidizing when iron oxidizes it becomes a visible reddish brown color. If you do have a water softener, have it serviced, it’s not working properly. if you have a whole house R.O. sell it to a bottle water company on ebay.
