i have a liquid glucosamine for my dogs legs he wont drink or let me give it to him?
Question : i have a liquid glucosamine for my dogs legs he wont drink or let me give it to him?
do i put it in his food or water? its chicken flavored so probably not water. it doesn’t actually have accurate directions.

Perhaps you can get better directions from the manufacturer or the store where you bought it. If the vet prescribed it, he/she can tell you how to administer it. The vet may be able to tell you even if you bought it yourself. If you give your dog dry food, you could probably mix it in with that.

If you put in his dinner, he’ll probably eat it without even realising. Or act as if it’s a treat.. add a little bit onto your finger and make him give you his paw, then let him lick it off. As soon as dogs think they’re getting normal food, they won’t care what it tastes like. If that doesn’t work, just put a bit into his food.

if it is liquid it can go on his food and he will eat it. I use pill form and also put that in the dogs food so he gets it so liquid can be given the same way.
Do not put it in the water just in case he doesn’t drink all the water then he will not get all the glucosamine.
But I would use only 1 teaspoon per day or 1 teaspoon each time you feed him. This will help in his joints to make them easier to move. - Comment Feed for this Post
If it doesn’t even have directions, you don’t give it. Period. You don’t even know how much to give!
If you do get accurate directions for it, simply put it in an eye dropper and put it in his mouth. It’s very simple to do. If this isn’t prescribed by your vet, it won’t do your dog any good. If he’s in pain, he needs whatever the vet prescribes to keep him pain free.
