Question : how do they make professional teeth whitening trays in the lab?
I am curious as to how they turn a bite imprint into a little plastic mold for your teeth-like for bleaching or for invisalign. What kind of certification is required? Is this done by a dental lab tech, dentist , or what?

Who makes them depends on the office- usually the trays for whitening are made in the office by the assistant. All the dental professionals in the office have recieved training on how to take an impression and make study casts and make those plastic trays. The Invisaline trays are sent out to a company and them use a computer to help calculate a series of trays needed to striaghten your teeth.
After the impression is taken they use plaster and pour it into the impression. The mold hardens and is trimed down. Then they use a device that heats a piece of plastice material once it is hot enough it is dropped over the model and a vaccum suckes the air out so the plastic is tight. After it cools it is trimmed down.
