How accurate is Predicting Gender when ultrasound is used?
Question : How accurate is Predicting Gender when ultrasound is used?
My husband and I had our 19 week ultrasound yesterday. After checking and re checking the tech said its a girl. Soo I bought a few girly clothes.
But my mom is telling me to paint the Nursery yellow because “You never know”. What is the chance of the Tech being wrong? She used the High tech ultrasound and our daughter spread her legs wide open.. It’s not like she is going to “sprout” a penis in the next few months.

If your daughter gave a clear view between her legs and there was no penis…then more than likely going to be a girl, lol.

Here’s how I know that mine is a girl..I looked it up online of how to tell and it showed 3 white lines for a girl or they also say it looks like a hamburger.. look at it sideways and it does look like one with the top,middle and bottom! lol For a boy it looks like a turtle head lol
I said it was a girl before the ultrasound tec. lady did but she rechecked and it was a girl, I am glad though cause I already have 2 boys lol

i would say wait until it definitely show what gender you child is , this way you’ll know for sure. The tech could be wrong too unless you have the confirmation from your doctor.. but yet i will suggest to wait further longer just to be sure.. and yes ultrasound is very accurate its the tech sometimes makes a wrong reading ..

I was 18 weeks when i went in for a ultrasound to check for down syndrome. So this was a very in depth ultrasound. She said that it was a girl. I asked her if she was sure and she said yes. On the picture she printed out she clearly pointed out that it was a girl. At my 21 weeks i had my scheduled anatomy ultrasound but she had her legs closed. So i’m hoping at my next one she wont be shy and will let me know for sure. I have a sister who is a nurse and she looked at the ultrasound and said that it was girl too.

if the u/s was high tech and he checked and re checked then try not to worry. I’ve only heard one account where the u/s was wrong and it was my friend’s cousin. she thought she was having a girl and then out came a boy. if she spread her legs wide and the tech knows what to look for then you’re probably having a girl.
my boy showed his goods loud and clear lol and there was NO mistaking he was a boy for sure.

honestly its never 100 percent. usually its right but there are those cases they can be wrong. they told my cousin she was having a girl and when it was born hes like umm…. and needless to say it was a boy and he got cussed out. the doctor told us ours was a boy at first but then my husband said look again and she said girl but shes not 100 percent on it. the sex wont change but sometimes they do read them wrong. its rare when an ultrasound is used but it does happen. if she said a girl i would just assume bc shes prolly right. its not everyday they are wrong.

Ultrasounds are pretty accurate, but they are never 100%. If you really want to be sure go for a 3d ultrasound, you can see the genitals very clearly on them.
