My daughter has the Medtronic Minimed 712 and we LOVE it. She was diagnosed at age 8 and went on the pump about 10 months later. She is now 11 and doing great ! The control is much tighter as the amount of insulin given is based precisely on your insulin sensitivity and your blood sugar and the carbs ingested at that moment rather than eating in a carb range to counter the shot you took hours earlier. If you are interested in the minimed you should check out the minimed website http://www.minimed.com/ and try the pump school online. It will tell you everything you need to know about using this pump. Good luck !
I have the 722. Its a good pump and i like it, the pump allows for more options in the future i.e. sensors that allows for continues glucose monitoring. I will purchase it once the pricing of the sensors will drop to reasonable price….
