Question : does anyone keep a heart defibrillator in there home ?
Im ordering one as lift is two short .You just never know what might happen
I live in a big city but its like heart attacks are a curse to my family .My partner is a pilot and he has a big medical every year which is bit of a peace of mind but still……You just never know .They are expensive but I dont think that comes into it at the end of the day if it can help save someones life if needed .

I don’t know of anyone who has them in their homes. AED’s are usually in public places where a lot of people gather. Some of my patients have a similar device implanted in their chests in association with a pacemaker.

They are becoming more popular for inside the home and car . If you are getting one be sure to take a CPR class with the AED module in it you will be glad you did … Unless you live far from EMS and also have a heart condition you are probably not going to want to shell the 1500 bucks out for it
AEDs are increasingly easier and to get but still run upwards of 1200 plus…I don’t have one here but have really thought about it … - Comment Feed for this Post
This is something that you should discuss with your doctor. I’ve looked into getting one for my house due to my grandfather. He’s had 2 cardiac events (1st one led to a 7 vessel bypass) and diabetes. We also live in a rural area. Even in a city however EMS can be delayed by traffic, building size, call volume, etc.
