Question : Does anyone have advice about how to talk to your sister about bulimia?
Sister came forward and said she has been bulimic for 5 years. She is away for rehab right now what is the best way to help her when she comes back

If she is in rehab right now, try to contact her doctor there and talk to him. When people have an addiction or a disease such as bulimia, it’s not only their fault or problem, it affects everybody and everybody should learn how to deal with it and how to help her. Certain behavior of family members or people in her life may even be the cause for her disease. Talk to her doctor and ask him how to talk to your sister.

I would start by learning as much as I could in the time allotted before she returns.. I am also sure where ever she is and the type of treatment she is getting will be a good source to answer your questions.. I would suggest you be understanding and supportive .. this is a very serious illness and she needs support and understanding.. You seem to have those .. Good luck to you and your sister.. I admire her for seeking help .

dont watch her like a hawk, i suffer from bulimia and its really annoying when people like are over our shoulders every second. let her know you support her, and that you care for her. tell her your gonna start eating healthier and you thought you and her can do it together (:
give her encouragment and let her know she can tell you anything that happens, she will feel more secure (:
