Do you think that doctors are over prescribing medical tests so they can alarm us for no reason?

No most times they don’t do enough test to figure out whats wrong.

Many times test are done to try to find a disease or problem that the doctor just cannot figure out. The symptoms may suggest one disease or problem but with test it proves the doctor wrong in his thinking so he has to do more test to come up with the correct diagnoses.

We have an 83 yr old woman that is a greeter at our local Walmart and she looks like she’s about 70, acts very young, talks very well and appears very bright, and is in excellent health. Last year she had a friend that would come sit and talk with her and others in the store each day and she was 101 and drove herself to the store. She had a beautiful complexion and looked like she was about 80 and seemed in very good health and loved to talk. She said she had a sister that was 103 that was much like her and still going strong.

My mother was a very intelligent woman and kept her own checkbook until she was about 85 and even after that she would check it to make sure my sister had subtracted or added correctly. She loved to read and watched all the political programs on t.v. like “Meet The Press”. She was very knowledgeable of world events and always loved History. She could rewire a lamp, fix a vacuum cleaner or sewing machine even in her mid 80′s. She lived in her own mobile home behind my sister and she planted and worked in her beautiful flowers and even cut down a small tree by herself when she was 85 yrs old. (Of course she told us after the fact)
She had two pacemakers put in over a few years but her heart was just worn out and would not work correctly and she developed congestive heart disease and died at age 88.
I think my mother had a great life and she enjoyed life until she developed the horrible heart disease two years before her death.

I myself look forward to living until I am 100+ as long as my mind stays bright and my health is good.

I think your longevity depends on your genes, your health, your outlook on life, staying physically active and mentally involved in life and you may just live to be 100.
