Question : depression Meds?
Are there any depression meds that won’t make you tired or leave you feeling numb after you are on them for a while when ever i get them I always feel good and like they are helping at first and then i start feeling really tired and eventually before i know it if i stay on them long enough I start to just be like LALALALA everything is great and its just doesn’t seem right I don’t care about the things I used to care about and nothing gets to me. I can’t seem to find a real doctor that wants to help they all just give me what ever the new fab drug is it really sucks.

I would have to agree with paxil I’ve been taking it for the past 7 years, remember God helps them who help them selves, All meds have side affects, when your body gets used to the new drug the side affects should go away or lessing. Last time I checked there wasn’t a drug that just make you happy, Depression is a chemical inbalance in the Brain, the meds don’t make you happy, they help you with the stess levels, kind of numbs your sensitiviy to day to day life

Hi Sparkle. You sound like the type of person that can take control of your health. Sherry Rogers, M.D. has written a powerful book called: “Depression Cured At Last!”. She explains the many underlying biochemical causes of depression, how to identify which problems are affecting you, and how to properly treat the problems. Every doctor that treats depression should read this book and the thousands of scientific references she includes, but sadly, it is too easy for docs to push drugs and too hard for most of them to learn ‘real medicine’.

Those meds only supress the symptoms. Rx for Life explains how you are here to feel a great deal of peace and happiness.

I used to take Prozac and I know exactly how you feel. I was happy…but it was fake. I was content with gaining weight, sleeping all the time, and I was always tired. I started taking Effexor a few years ago instead. I find that I am not as tired, I still have normal human emotions, I lost most of the weight, and I have a reduction in my anxiety symptoms without the loss of reality.
Good luck! And find a new doc if you don’t like yours. It’s supposed to be someone you trust and enjoy discussing these things with. If you can’t afford a new doc, talk to someone at the city’s health department. There are local psychiatrists available at low cost in most areas.

paxil works well for me.. but don’t go off what you are on without your doctor’s help… withdrawal from any of them can be horrible
