Thanks for sharing your story. I have bipolar disorder and I wish I knew about the disability services these past few years. I’ve had a lot of problems with bipolar and this has interfered with my success at college. I failed a lot of courses (for over two years) and realize that had I had the right services in place things would have turned out differently. Now I go part-time and that is what works best for me. The lower the stress the better. I hope your college experience goes smoothly!

It’s definitely not too late. When I was diagnosed, I had been like Andrew. I was involved in school activities, different organizations, and I was doing well in school. I had to see a counselor, and finally after a few months I was able to get in with the psych. for medication. But before I could get the medication, my grades had slipped dramatically and I had to move back home and withdraw from school. After about four months of just trying to cope with the medication and my disorder,

@jm227307 I’m able to move back to my school and live in an apartment with two of my friends. Hopefully, I’ll be able to finish college without too many interruptions. Don’t think it’s too late to finish. And don’t think this disorder can limit you, because you can be successful with the proper help. Look at Drew Barrymore and Patty Dukes, that singer from Blue October, they’ve lived with dipolar and have been able to achieve their dreams.
