my dad has just put a deposit down on an electrically adjustable bed without consulting anyone, does anyone know whether you can knock these sellers down in price or get discounts.

You can always try, Generally after a deposit is made is not the best time to do so.
I read somewhere there are 5 words you should always ask before making any deal. “is that your best price?”. Usually you’ll find the seller willing to lower the price in order to make the sale. You might have a problem as a deposit was given and you’ve lost your bargaining strength. Good luck.
