Can you get breast augmentation surgery if you are overweight?
Question : Can you get breast augmentation surgery if you are overweight?
I intend on getting breast augmentation surgery soon, but have yet to schedule a consultation with a doctor. I have done much research on the internet, but can’t find any information on weight restrictions or limitations. Can someone help me with finding out that information?

There are surgeons who will do pretty much anything you are willing to pay for. Whether or not it’s actually safe, I can’t tell you.

You can always find some doc to do an in office procedure of just about anything you want… and you now end up signing a waiver that you understand the risks of silicone, so you can no longer sue anyone for anything, no matter how bad your future health deteriorats….. But you are foolish to have this surgery done. Hopefully you have carefully researched it, and found the percentages of side effects — everything from encapsulation, necroses of tissues, loss of feeling in your nipple, difficulty of doing mammograms, shifting of the implant, breaking of the capsule, and real risk of rupture and spilling of silicone into your bod, resulting in autoimmune diseases being triggered….(Your genetics loads the gun on some of these, but the foreign implant pulls the trigger….. Without the implant, you would never come down with some of these….)
Hon, after you read some of this stuff, you might reconsider. I have many many friends who have had implants, and not one repeat NOT ONE of them remained problem free…. Most after awhile, or after the third surgery had those things taken out…. problem from everything thing from several breast surgeries to replace rupture ones to , painful manipulations to break up adhesions, Shoegren’s syndrome, the inability to have good mammograms, undetected cancers yadaydayday….. the list is endless…
Do more research on the side effects. No plastic surgeon is going to fill you in. Determined patients tossing $ 8000 at him is just tooooooo tempting, and since most of these women are determined, why not him???? ‘sides, now with the papers you sign, you are unable to sue, and his cost to you —- about $ 8000 will more than cover any loss (It’s an hour surgery, his cost, about $ 1000. Not bad, huh???? and at the expense of your health…

It really depends on your actually weight and height measurements. If you are morbidly obese then most surgeons will not perform many operations. There’s too many risks involved anyway. But with breast augmentation it’s the call of the plastic surgeon. I would say that you will probably have no problems with finding a doc to do it. Just find one that you are comfortable with and has a good practice. Look for their malpractice record too. Good luck.

if your body mass is overweight range don’t waste your money on boob job.
spend your money on changing your waste by buying food that feeds your health. lose the waste inches and you’ll be much bigger on the top. longer life better life and more cash in hand.

Each patient is different, and that is why you need to consult with a plastic surgeon.
Whether or not you are a candidate for augmentation depends on a lot of things, including how much breast tissue you have and whether or not there is ptosis (sagging). There are different implants and different techniques for placing them, and all of that needs to be considered.
You might benefit more from a mastopexy (breast lift) that takes what you already have and shapes it better. Only a plastic surgeon who examines you can give you advice that applies to YOUR body.
Many of the augs we do are either in little twig-shaped girls or women in their 40′s or 50′s who have lost volume and just want to get back to where they used to be. We don’t do many heavy gals. For those with a little more weight, we are more likely to do a lift, with or without implants, and maybe in conjunction with a tummy tuck.
Go see a plastic surgeon and see what he/she says.
