Question : Can i get individual dental insurance through the state somehow for my wisdom teeth?
I have impacted wisdom teeth and need them out by this summer at the latest. I don’t have any dental insurance and my health insurance expired a few months ago…
I’m 16 years old and I need to come up with 2000 dollars somehow.
Is there ANY way I can get state dental insurance or something similar?
Yeah I know this should be my parents problem…however they are unfortunately irresponsible, so i’m pretty much on my own with this.

Shouldn’t this be your parents problem?
You need them out ASAP. They will grow hooks into your jaw the longer you delay. $ 2,000 must need surgery? If you are on your own, try Medicaid.

Many states have dental schools and for about $ 5 or $ 10.00 you can have your teeth fixed.
You can check on the internet for dental schools in your area.
My friend was short on funds and she did the same thing, went to a dental school. Now she goes there when ever she needs work done on her teeth.Hope this helps you.

That shouldn’t cost anywhere near $ 2,000. If it does you should shop around (unless you freakishly have five or six impacted wisdom teeth). A soft tissue impaction should cost between $ 175 and $ 330, the higher end of the range being in high cost-of-living areas, like major cities. A bony impaction might cost up to double that.

Medicaid, and I second the motion for CareCredit. It is really a great program. What state are you from? I know that Iowa has a program called Hawk-i Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa.
