Can a gynecologist perform an abortion, or do you have to go to an abortion clinic?
Question : Can a gynecologist perform an abortion, or do you have to go to an abortion clinic?
I wondered whether a gynecologist’s office can perform abortions, or whether they have to refer to you an abortion clinic?
For all you snotty opinionated jerks who say I’m “murdering my baby” I dont even know if I’m pregnant and I have a rare disorder I would pass on if I have a child, and I will not bring a child into the world who has to go through the pain I went through.

where i live, you can only have them done at a specialized womens clinic.

so why weren’t you using more effective birth control? Its a very difficult situation I would need someone to tell me something is wrong with my baby before I decided to abort unless you just don’t want, it then grow up and go to the abortion clinic, most real docs don’t do it as they’re all about preserving life

Yes… they can, but as someone already said most will not. It depends on the city and how far along you are if you will find one in your area. An abortion clinic is the best choice, or any Planned Parenthood.
Don’t listen to the other people that are stating their opinions instead of answering your question. They don’t know your situation, and really shouldn’t offer their opinions if they were not asked for them.

And uhm… you can choose where to put the question. Y!A gives you optionsAnd is there REALLY a guarantee that you’ll give this rare disorder to your child? There might be a good chance, and drs might pressure you, but there’s no guarantee that there will be anything wrong with your child.
If you never wanted a child and you never wanted them to go through the pain, then you should have used BC. Abortion is not a good form of BC -

How about asking this question in another section rather than the pregnancy section? I mean, I know it’s a serious question to you, but do you have to be so tacky when picking the category? Not to be rude, but you shouldn’t be having abortion questions where women are pregnant or trying to conceive..Next time, try womens health..And no, go to a clinic. Only abortion clinics will murder your unborn baby for you…

Yeah, some gynos will do it. However, I would honestly advise you to go to an actual women’s clinic. I did and my experience was wonderful, or as wonderful as it could have been. A specialist abortion doctor is usually a better choice. And as to putting this question in “pregnancy” being insensitive – why? It is a pregnancy-related question, and therefore should be here, until there is an “abortion” section. It’s not like you posted this in TTC.
