The World Down Syndrome Foundationâ? s 2010 Be Beautiful, Be Yourself Jet Set Fashion Show was on Saturday, 2 October at the Hyatt Regency Denver instead. Crnic, who died in a tragic motorcycle accident in 2004, was a professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Director of the Colorado mental retardation and developmental disabilities center. The inspiration for the creation of Sophia Institute Crnic Linda Kay Whitten, the granddaughter of Anna and John J. YOU, who just have Down syndrome. Linda Crnic Institute for Down syndrome is the first national organization for basic research, clinical research and clinical care for people with Down syndrome under one roof.
