I assume a Cerac crown is a full porcelain crown. Since you put a lot of pressure on the back teeth, a porcelain fused to metal crown is a better crown to go with. You don’t see the metal at all since it is covered by the porcelain.

Cerac is a relativity newer product which allows you to have a crown in one appointment. It claims to be very strong, but being so new, it has not withstood the test of time as have porcelain fused to metal crowns . Having been burned in the past trying some newer products, I would go with the tried and true product. good luck.

Porcelain fused to metal is much stronger and have withstood the test of time. Cerac crowns have been known to fracture due to biting pressure.
