You will need to check with your pharmacist to be 100% sure. You don’t want to mess around with this, because if you take too many things that stimulate serotonin, you could get serotonin syndrome, which is potentially fatal. That’s what Anna Nicole Smith’s son died of a few years ago.
The guy above who said that most migraine meds were serotonin agonists while Zoloft was a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) got it wrong. “Agonist” means that it stimulates serotonin receptors, while I think that guy is thinking of the word “antagonist”, which means decreases workings of serotonin receptors. In other words, migraine meds are usually serotonin agonists which means they usually stimulate serotonin receptors, and SSRIs increase serotonin use, so the two drugs act together to effectively increase serotonin in the brain, which could potentially be dangerous. This is why you need to ask your doctor and/or pharmacist to check for interactions, just in case. I don’t believe there is any problem with fioricet and Zoloft, because fioricet actually does not influence serotonin receptors at all. But OTHER migraine meds do, like Imitrex, so all migraine meds should be discussed with doctor or pharmacist.
