Mini dental implants are great. I have them. You need to find a dentist that has been trained and experienced in this procedure.
Hello, The answer to your question concerning “mini/implants”..is yes a general DDS can place implants, mini or otherwise…however, before doing so every DDS I know has attended implant seminars to learn the procedure…That is not to say that “all” seminars are equal anymore that all DDS are equal in their abilities. We as humans can absorb the exact same learning material, but will differ in our ability to put that information into use…Most Implant seminars issue a Certificate of completion so the DDS you go to will most likely have such a Certificate posted on his wall…Doing Implants does not require a Board issued specialty license or permit. If you have a question about the qualifications of the DDS you will use, most sates have a Web site that list complaints covering a number of issues. If your DDS has had Implant complaints they will more than likely be listed….Also you could contact the BBB, (Better Business Bureau) and see if they have him in their complaint files……Keep in mind that as of yet there are no test that can determine if your body will accept or reject a dental implant. Also know that the success of Implants nationwide is in the 85% range…..Good luck and I wish you well.
