There are a variety of second line treatment options – the best choice depends on the type of cancer cells, where the cancer is located, and partly on the patient’s preference. Second line treatment options include freezing tissues, drying out tissues with electricity, radiation, and chemotherapy.

The newer treatments are better mainly in the sense that they are more narrowly focused on the cancer cells than chemotherapy or radiation, so they kill fewer healthy cells.
