What is the cheapest abortion procedure to get?
Question : What is the cheapest abortion procedure to get?
I am considering an abortion for my own personal reasons, please do not preach or lecture to me about it, it’s my choice on what’s best in this situation. I need to know which abortion method would probably be the least expensive, but I would also like to know a little info about all the procedures, please.
I might be pregnant and don’t have a lot of money or any income coming. I live in the US, where abortion is generally not free.

if you go to planned parenthood, they can help you with paying for the procedure through a payment plan or they can refer you to a charity that funds abortions. an abortions can be from 300-700 dollars, depending on the procedure and whether or not sedation is included. if you’re 8 weeks and under, you can opt for the medical abortion. the first dose is given to you at the clinic. this stops the hormones from supporting the pregnancy. the second dose you take at home. this causes your body to expell the embryo and the pregnancy tissue. your other choice is the surgical. you are given a painkiller beforehand or sedation if you choose. your cervix is numbed, and then the doctor places a cannula in the cervix and the pregnancy is gently suctioned out of your body. good luck and don’t let the anti-abortionists get to you. they don’t give a damn about you or your fetus/embryo. it’s all about pushing their agenda on the masses.

It’s sad how rude and cruel “pro life” people can be huh? I’m sure prices vary state to state so you should call a local Planned Parenthood and ask their opinion. They could give you advice about what to do if you are on a very limited income and what the best option would be for you. PP also has rates on their site and they describe the procedures. It seems that the cost starts at $ 350. Both the abortion pill and in clinic abortions are safe, so don’t worry what other people say. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/abortion/in-clinic-abortion-procedures-4359.htm#happens

I’m not sure about an answer to your question except that a good place to start looking at base prices is planned parenthood.
I would also like to give you my support in your decision, it is not an easy one especially on this forum where there seem to only be uneducated and disrespectful opposers that are giving opinions.
Please, have some decency everybody.

An abortion is a very personal decision made by a woman, or by a couple, to end her pregnancy. During the procedure, a doctor will remove the embryo (or fetus) and the placenta from the uterus.
Abortions are very safe, but should be done during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. When an abortion is done during the first three months of a pregnancy, 97% of women have few complications. Abortions can be done as late as 20 weeks, but this is rare because of the risk of complications.
To perform an abortion, the doctor either numbs the cervix or gives the woman a general anaesthetic to put her to sleep. The doctor then puts a small suction tube through the cervix to empty the uterus. This usually takes about three to ten minutes. Other methods of abortion include D&E (dilation and evacuation), saline induction or prescribed medication. Many women feel menstrual-like cramps during and after the abortion. They may also have some bleeding, much like a period.
In Ontario, abortions are free of charge in some clinics and hospitals. Before the procedure, women are given information on the risks, the complications and the alternatives. It’s important to note that everything is kept confidential.
After having an abortion, women experience a variety of emotions. These feelings are very individual and completely normal. Some women may find it helpful to speak to a friend or even a counsellor.

It depends on how far along in the pregnancy you are. The abortion pill (which runs from 300-600 dollars), can abort pregnancy up to 63days post your last period.
An in clinic abortion can run up to 1000 and can only be performed up to 24 weeks.
There are many traditional herbal methods used to induce an abortion
One using vitamin C
http://angryforareason.blogspot.com/2006/02/how-to-induce-miscarriage-herbally-and.htmlOther methods:
First method is an ankle massage. It is a massage (make sure to press firmly for no less than 5 minutes) on a pressure point which induce uterine contractions– and thus a miscarriage.
http://www.sisterzeus.com/alternative_methods.html
Having been taught massage and thoroughly warned of that specific area on pregnant women, I would give a good deal of merit to the claims that it will cause a miscarriage.
If you really want an abortion, please call your local planned parenthood to find out your options. They may be able to hook you up with some sort of payment plan or discount.
(Please note though, following any herbal method could result in some very serious complications so I cannot recommend that you use them, but merely use the information provided as reference material.)

I suggest that you reconsider. The psychological trauma that you could inflict upon yourself could be lifelong and irreversable.
In America you do have that choice, you are right… but when is taking a life ever a choice that you should have to make?
You can either have the saline injection – which burns the fetus or have it extracted with a vacuum like hose which will tear the fetus into pieces. Abortions generally cost about 400 dollars. -

Wow, that’s tough. Well I really don’t know about that, but I will say this, If you are really sure that this is what you want to do, then:
I would reconsider trying to get the cheapest thing. We are talking about your body. And I would think that if it were too cheap, it would not be safe. And you don’t want to end up in serious trouble because the procedure was so cheap that it was not a SAFE one.
Get a GOOD doctor, at a good clinic, that knows what he/she is doing. Maybe you could go ask a doctor about the procedures, and you can talk in confidence.
If say, this is something that you feel you can’t tell your parents, then you could call a hotline,(Like Boys & Girls Town) and tell them your situation, and maybe they can help you.Whatever you do, DON’T take an abortion pill. That could potentionally hurt you. Try to find some good help, some people qualified to help someone with your situation. I hope everything works out,
Good luck . -

Good for you. I have nothing smart to say but not everyone is meant to be moms. If their forced to be moms they might end up doing something we might read on the news. But I would have to say just do the regular procedure. It’s full proof. If you want to be as mom someday, you do it on your time. Call a program or talk to the doctor they might help you.

I’m glad youre aborting it because if youre looking for the cheapest procedure, then you probably would be cheap when the baby came out and you wouldn’t give your precious baby everything he or she would need. but the pill would probably be the cheapest, however its not legal in the united states. also you could take blue and black kohosh. women take it to induce labor but it will also make you miscarry if you take it now. or you could just drink a lot

okay it depends on a few things how far along are you if you are under 12 weeks it will be cheaper than over 12 weeks it depends on the area you live also do you want IV sedation(go to sleep) or being awake because IV sedation costs more than local. And the abortion pill does cost more than the surgical and you have to under 8 weeks for that call a clinic and find out your options every state has its own laws.
FYI if you live in NY state you can get it for free if you apply for medicaid
