How is a woman suppose to know if she has had a bad abortion in the first place, if she went to a licensed abortion clinic? Some women do bleed, have cramps, and painful sex even days or weeks after an abortion?
So in the USA where you can get a safe legal abortion easily what does it mean by a bad abortion in 2010?

A bad abortion is one that you become infected and die. This used to happen all the time before they became legal.
Well, abortion is available safe and legal, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be unscrupulous clinics with incompetent staff that take improper precautions and don’t use proper procedure.
A bad abortion would be one that included a bad experience as a result of the clinic. Maybe the staff was rude or not compassionate or didn’t provide the necessary information or answer questions for the patient. They may have skipped protocol such as checking blood type prior to the abortion or skipping the ultrasound. They may only be concerned about bringing in more money so lie about gestation to do more involved procedures or even perform an abortion on someone who isn’t pregnant at all, but thinks they are. The doctor might just be incompetent and perform the procedure wrong and cause unnecessary scarring or even perforate an organ or they could miss the pregnancy entirely and you leave still pregnant. You could be medically raped by a doctor who feels power over vulnerable patients. It can be quite horrific.
If anyone feels for any reason that they may have had a bad or poor abortion experience they should go to another clinic for follow-up. If they strongly believe there is something wrong, they should do this immediately. If they just have typical bleeding and cramping, then they should just go to another clinic so they will be treated properly this time around and can be told of any problems which the first clinic isn’t likely to let you know about given they don’t want to be held liable.
