I took roxies and oxy for 5 years, as many as I could get, which was a lot. But in march I decided to quit, over 100 days clean, no suboxone , fuck that. U don’t need it if u want to quit bad enough. Sometimes on a stressful day I’ll want one but then I’ll say no way. Not trying to brag, just inspire. It can be done. I thought I’d be nothing without the pills, was scared at first, so happy the nightmare is over, peace

@sepultura7771 – Thank you for your inspiring words. Although it is possible for some to get clean and (stay clean) without the use of Suboxone, the sad fact is that most cannot, and I want other addicts to know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with needing suboxone to get clean. I disagree with the notion that an addict can get clean cold turkey “if he really wants to bad enough”. Addiction has nothing to do with willpower. Suboxone is a great tool for us who have failed at willpower.

I never said ” cold turkey” weened down for 3 weeks, then quit. But telling people they need suboxone is like taking advantage of them in a fragile state. They’ll never know until they ride it out for a few months. The mental lingers on long after the physical, but wouldn’t it be better to give hope and inspire. Oh , forgot, there’s no money in that. Just keep em hooked

@sepultura7771 – Well, I get what your saying, trust me. Ive been through the whole 7 year ordeal of weening and doing every single other thing I could think of to stop using before even getting on suboxone. I stand to make no money from telling people about suboxone, but of course just as with any doctor, there is going to be a charge to get treatment, otherwise doctors would not be able to practice, common sense. Telling people about suboxone is giving THEM the advantage, and a way to live.

Well I certainly wasn’t accusing u of making money off it. But the truth is a lot of things can be overcome with a positive mindset, I’m talking after the physical withdrawal, the mental is obviously , well, In your head. I’m no mr miaggi or nothin but, a defeatist attitude can only make matters worse.

@sepultura7771 – Point taken. Your right, a postitive attitude is key in addiction recovery, but Im simply saying that a positive attitude most of the time, will not keep an addict from picking up and using. I firmly believe that a disease like addiction cannot be beaten with any amount of positivity. Its not a defeatist way of thinking, its just being realistic and practical. This disease conquers most, unless medication like suboxone is used. Some don’t need it but the majority do, sadly..

Bro, I shot heroin straight into the jug for 10 years, ODd 15 times, been on my knees to feed the habit ect.. Anyway, at one point was like, “Enough is enough, I’m better than this.” Man, I’ve been clean for 12 hours already. I’m kicking some ass. But that’s how it is. I said that’s it and that’s it. Trust me, all you pussies hating on THE maple2609 could do it too if you’d quit being so weak.

@SixOneCyx – All I’m trying to say is that there some addicts of have the ability to stop and stay off and some who cant, and need help from drugs like suboxone, like me. Ive tried to stop countless times and there came a point where I couldnt put my family through another failed rehab, failed meeting, or failed anything else. I may be on suboxone, but at the very least I can wake up every day and play with my kid without running out the door to score, and thats all the matters to me.

I never heard about suboxone and never went to the doctors to quit taking all those painkillers, i did it by myself because I knew my life would stop at one point.. All it takes is a few months of not taking the drug until you start to feel some of the harder withdrawls start going away. Best of luck to you!

Oxycontin completely ruined my best friend. I watched him over the years hiding it, claiming he only did it a little bit. Then I saw him shoot up with another guy I knew, and it hit me that he had been doing this shit for a while now. All the long days of him passed out on the couch make sense.
Please think of the other people in your life when you take this shit. peace, and good luck.

@HappySneakers – Luckily, more and more suboxone doctors are popping up each month, not to mention the doctor finder on the suboxone website. Here in central Ohio, there are around 15-20 licensed doctors, many who in fact do accept insurance. I have been at my doctor for going on 3 years now without any problems. Thankfully the powers that be, have now lifted the number of patients a doctor can have from 30 per doctor to 100 per doctor, making it much better for addicts in need. Best Wishes
