(NEW) Diary of a Daughter: Small Cell Lung Cancer Took My Mom Too Soon
small cell lung cancer
The first of my “Cancer Series”, redone completely. My mom was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer (from prolonged smoking); it was, at first, in her lungs & lymphnodes in her neck. It was inoperable, so they did chemo & preventative radiation on her brain. A year later she was in hospice… RiP Mom (March 12, 1950 – April 15, 2003) Thanks for watching… and please – don’t smoke. I can’t believe that comment from marypoppins53. I’m so sorry for your loss Kata. I just lost my brother this past July of SCLC. He was only 45. He left a wife and two children – a daughter who is 19. You remind me of her and what she might be going through. God bless you and know that your mom is and always will be watching over you.

Every Wednesday at dailystrength(.)org, in the smoking addiction and recovery group, we have a virtual “bonfire” where we burn the cigarettes we haven’t smoked since we quit. This week we have dedicated our bonfire to your mom for teaching us once again, through your touching testimony, why we should never smoke again. Thank you for sharing with us.
Feel free to drop by and say hi if you wish and also to add our support group to your links.

My dad was diagnosed with small cell in 2000 and died 4 months later. I had similar circumstances such as the cancer went to my dad’s brain also and he waited for us when he passed away. My brother was 19 when he died and was forced to find a job and move out of my dad’s house. My life hasn’t been the same since he passed away. I feel like I lost the most important thing in my life and I hope I can see him again in the future. He may have smoked but he didn’t deserve to die that way. Great video
