I’ve come down with a terrible cold and i was wondering if its safe to take some nasal spray to relieve my congestion?

Ask doc, but that stuff goes right into your blood, & that goes right into your baby…
Blow your nose a lot & ask the doc…
and I do sympathize, because I have allergies a lot of the year & was miserable during the worst time…

If it’s anything other than saline, you need to ask your doctor. The medicine is absorbed into your capillaries through your nose and can be passed to your baby. Your doctor will know how far along you are and what he or she can recommend. Your doctor might also have some suggestions for helping you to feel better without medication.

Anytime you are considering taking anything during pregnancy that your doctor hasn’t already given you the ok for, it’s best to call and ask them about it.
However, even after my doctor approved something I would still ask the pharmacist and check their answers against the results from the link below.

Most of them are unsafe. They have medicines that a pregnant woman shouldn’t use. Saline is safe…but I don’t think it will open you up much. Sudafed (single ingredient pseudoephedrine) is safe if used in moderation. Try a vaporizer.
