Not to be a downer here but, people watching this and thinking “OMG SURGERY WILL MAKE ME SKINNY!” need to also think about the risks and complications. Here’s something to think about: You don’t ever hear from the people who weight-loss surgery DIDN’T work for. Do you know why? because they’re dead. Yeah, it works for some people, but diet & exercise will work for the vast majority of people if they have a little willpower. Imagine how much better you’d feel if you did it on your own?

@ruin3r I totally here you there. It’s wonderful that you (the girl in the video) have made a change in your life and happiness is the most important thing in the world, but I don’t this video is really giving out a positive message. I am shocked and disgusted that you were approved for this surgery at such a low weight! Not to take anything away from you, but I would have enjoyed this if you lost the weight with diet and exercise.

@ruin3r oh my god! dont take the credit away from her! if she went through the surgery and decided to take the risk you cant say shed feel better doing what you would have wanted her to do! everyone does it the way they feel they want to do it…she looks AMAZING!!! and theres no way you can take that away from her and if you dont like it make some research and a video of what youd like to see here and post it. maybe you can teach other people about the risks but in a respectful way….

wow! you look great. ive stuggled with my weight since i was 10. Im considering the surgery but not sure which one. im waiting for my provider to send me my info. i have to take a 3 mth program thy said before i can have the surgeries. im really worried about it. but im tire of being obese. did you have any complications if you dont mind. cause you looook beautiful and your face eyes say it all!! i would appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. any input. god bless you.

I commend you on your accomplishment. I too went through GBP in 2004. I went from 420 down to 245. I have since gained back some, mostly due to losing my blue collar job last year, laziness and depression arent a good combo.
You look amazing. It IS a great feeling tho isnt it? I am surprised tho that doctors approved you for what would otherwise be called a low weight at only 228. Congrats just the same. Keep up the good work.
