Question : Is it necessary for obese people to use the handicap scooters provided in shopping centers?
Doing that is worse than taking their parking spots. There should be a fine.
Morbid obesity is not covered by any State or Federal disability I’ve ever heard of…

If you do not qualify for a handicap placard, then you do not qualify for a scooter provided by the store.
You can get a temporary placard if you sprain your ankle, break a leg, pregnancy complications, etc.
Obese people need to walk. Many doctors tell them to WALK the malls because it is even ground and no pot holes or curbs to trip or stumble.
I am handicapped. I have a placard. I am a Christian. I don’t judge.
If they use the scooter then they use the scooter. If there isn’t a scooter there because someone who didn’t need it is using it, I have the option of contacting the manager to retrieve the scooter immediately for misuse.
Fight your battles and keep moving if it isn’t your battle.

if they need them then yes because that is what they are for, they aren’t for able bodied people to race them around because that can break them or run down the battery. just because someone is fat doesn’t mean it is from eating to much, it could be from a disability that causes them to be incapable of exercising as much as you can or it could be from a medication that causes them to gain weight and just walking wont fix the problem. if some one can’t walk the distance of the store and scooters are provided then they have evey right to use what is there for those situations.
