Is eating disorder treatment hard?
Question : Is eating disorder treatment hard?
I am going to start seeing an eating disorder specialist next week and eventually do a partial hospitalization program possibly. How hard is it to recover from anorexia or an eating disorder not otherwise specified (EDNOS)? Does the therapy really help? What exactly happens in treatment that helps? Do they make you force yourself to eat?

It will be hard. But i can promise you, when you look back you will be so happy you did it. You must be ready, I know you are :]
I think depending on the person, the disorder, and the facility, treatment will vary. If you’re interested, you may want to take a look at this site, http://www.eatingdisorder.com/eating-disorders-treatment.html?utm_source=ans&utm_medium=pv&utm_content=ld&utm_campaign=rcx and on there you will find tons of great information about eating disorders, and the treatment programs available for that disorder.
Also there is a toll-free helpline number on the site, that I think you should call, and you will speak to a trained counselor who will be able to answer any questions you have about the treatment, and how the program goes, and they will be more than happy to help you.
Good luck, best wishes to you.
