for women they can do blood tests and vaginal ultrasounds to begin with, and for the men they to a sperm sample… it is just as likely for the male to be the cause of infertility as the female, so don’t overlook that. good luck!

Well, let’s see… to determine infertility there’s a few things they do to find out if there’s a problem. It usually begins with blood tests to check your hormone levels and thyroid function. Then you may have an ultrasound of your reproductive parts to see that everything looks okay and is working properly. Depending on these tests, the doctor may or may not go further. Also, your partner should have a sperm analysis done to see if he’s in working order too.
If you are 34 or under, most fertility specialists won’t see you unless you’ve tried conceiving for 12 cycles. If you’re 35 or older, it will be 6 cycles.
