Beach Cities Health District, announced today the installation of two automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in campus Beach Cities Health Center, 514 North Prospect Avenue Redondo Beach. BCHD calls instead of the local communities, organizations and businesses to AEDs in public places.

sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) can happen to anyone, including athletes of any age, at any time – often without warning. A person has to do with a slightly increased risk for sudden cardiac arrest during or shortly after strenuous exercise.

“AEDs are easy to use and can save lives,” said Dr. Lisa Santora, chief medical officer of BCHD. “The American Heart Association strongly supports the placement of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in public and private areas where people gather, especially in heart attack risk.” Dr. Santora provides medical oversight for public access to BCHD defibrillation (PAD), which with the Ministry of Redondo Beach Fire link.
