Question : Has anyone ever had an issue with orthodontia and airport security.?
I have a permanent retainer on my teeth and I’m wondering if I should have like a letter from my dentist in case i set off a metal detector ?

Shouldn’t be a problem – I have a lingual bar retainer and I’ve never set of the metal detector…..
Doubt that it will be a problem. If anything beeps, it should be pretty obvious when you open your mouth to explain. They would run a hand-help wand over you to make sure it was just your retainer that cause the alert – but it is really unlikely that the detector will beep.
