Elderly Woman Denied Allergy Medication
allergy medication
I was at the pharmacy last night and since this elderly woman had an expired id, she was denied allergy medication. What is happening? Our Constitutional Rights are being taken away little by little. There is an ingredient in certain allergy meds, called pseudoephredrine, which drug dealers can use to make methamphetamine. So, a law was passed that it can only be puchased at the pharmacy with proper id. Again it is the law abiding citizens who are being affected such as in this case. It is like Big Brother is watching us. What will be the next item that we won’t be able to purchase without valid ID. The Government knows who you are and what you are purchasing. I don’t feel this law is right, however, I can only vote for Representatives who can change laws and amend them.

How true! These lawyers become lawyers to just suck up and become politicians. My first lawyer did that and screwed me out of at least 600,000 at the low end. He knew the State Supreme Court Judge. They worked together politically. The arbitrators work with the insurance companies, so the people lose.

Serious! The cops shut down a local club here not long ago because the they didn’t have a dance license (it was a salsa night). I guess a liquor license isn’t enough. You would think such a law wouldn’t still apply in this day and age, but it’s still on the books, and cops need something to do….
Those “weird law” websites are funny…until legislators or law enforcement realize they can bust somebody for something innocuous!!

It’s a bummer we have to regulate things like sudafed– sadly there are peopel out there that were absolutely using that stuff to make deadly drugs. Obviosly not grandma in the shop but if you let the pharmacist start making judgement calsl at what point does he stop? Is it a law or not? It’s dumb but it’s the only real way to get compliance and they need complaince to stop the meth labs from blowing up (and producing meth)

Home meth labs are pretty common. People make it in their basements particualry in certain parts of the country. They tend to blow up bc of the unstable nature of the ingredients. It bites hardcore but I’m not sure what they should do with that one. Don’t get me wrong I’m for legalizing marijuana so you know I don’t want them restricting cough drops- at the same time I don’t want to blow up bc my neighbors have set up a home meth lab.

I think I readthat people doing that would go buy a bunch of cough meds so they restricted the amount you could buy at once. Of course people just bought them from a few stores- I think that must be why the ID thing came about so they could track how much a person is buying. I don’t live in a town where that is a big issue and I’m not sure that method of regulation would even help but we should all be used to stupid and ineffective laws. They had to look like they were trying, right?

Well, there isn’t an argument about meth labs. The argument is buying allegy meds over the counter. I’m sure big meth labs aren’t buying sudafed from drug stores. They are paying people off to get the ingredients delivered to them. This is just big brother watching us. Just like with the 2nd amendment.

Yeah, it’s super annoying, isn’t it?
I don’t know why they are going after people buying one or two bottles of allergy medicine, it’s the people you see buying ten boxes a time to worry about. I’m conflicted because I really really hate tweekers (a lot of them in Las Vegas, and they do brew meth in their homes), but I also hate having to have an ID check like a criminal just because the pollen count is high.
Good for you for buying that woman’s meds for her. -

Thank you. Where I used to live there was a big bust and a meth lab discovered in the Country. No one would ever have known. It was so rural and quiet. The people kept to themselves. It’s not like they have neighbors right next door. There was one guy who knows a state cop so the big meth people have connections. Maybe, small time people make it from buying it in the drug store. These people were dealing big quantities, however. Thousands of dollars. You can buy a cop.

That’s an unfortunate situation. The role of all government is to systematically whittle away the rights of its citizens. Once a bill becomes law, it sets a precedent for future legislation. And they rarely amend or remove old out-dated laws. In my town, you’re technically still required to have a license to dance. Ridiculous!
