Does Sweating Ease Chemotherapy Side Effects?
Question : Does Sweating Ease Chemotherapy Side Effects?
I’m wondering when somebody has had a dose of Chemotherapy, if their sickness side effects usually last around 4 days, will excess sweating (eg Steam Room or Sauna) help lessen these side effects, because the toxins are being sweated out?
Or will it not make any difference at all?

I would think it would certainly help, if not by removing toxins, then perhaps to ease the muscle and bone pain often associated with chemo. I didn’t have to worry about saunas as my hormones were really messed up with chemo.. cold sweats, hot sweats were always with me. Now I just feel cold all the time. Best thing to do for at least three days after chemo is to drink lots of water to flush the toxins thru the bladder, liver and kidneys so the poison doesn’t sit in those organs and cause problems.
Of course, sweating is great idea and so is exercise. You need to help the body cleanse itself. This will not only help with chemo side effects but with the cancer itself.
Saying it is bad to go in a sauna is like saying it is bad to go outside on a hot summer day. Nothing wrong with that at all. Sweating is a natural process with which the body cools and cleanses itself. It has wonderful effects on your skin and well-being.
