Question : Does Medicaid cover eating disorder treatment?
I have a friend in PA who is finally ready to get treatment for bulimia, but she no longer has insurance and can’t afford the thousands of dollars a month for the treatment center, so I’ve been looking into some options for her. I know bulimia is considered a mental disorder, but would Medicaid cover it?

Depending on the state actually. But it’s more of a chore to find a place that will accept it. As long as medicaid that the person has covers mental disorders. It’s just now the process of finding a place that treats the bulimia that will accept medicaid. Bring out the phone book and start making calls.
