Eating disorder has many forms and names. There is anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating is the most common. Anorexia and bulimia are often confused.
Anorexia is self-starvation. Anorexic people suffer from severe and fatal disease if not treated quickly. Even with treatment, always fatal anorexia in many cases. A person with anorexia starve just because of the strict control of food intake. These people think they are still fat and overweight, if they are not. They keep a regime until they are dead.
People with bulimia, however, are usually a little overweight, but not satisfied with their weight or body shape. Binge eating is very common in patients with bulimia. Binge eating means that these people have periods of overeating, often thousands of calories per meal.
After eating, they feel bad when they see the only way to get rid of all the calories by vomiting. The flushing process is so damaging to the body when it is repeated often.
Another symptom of a person suffering from bulimia is too much exercise. They train a lot, sometimes several times a day to get rid of calories. The behavior of binge eating, vomiting, exercise, nutrition, etc is very bad in the long term for the body.
The treatment of bulimia begins with a psychological therapy. Bulimic people are often not overweight, but much more obsessed with their body shape. Poor nutrition habits can even lead to heart problems or cancer. There is no need to suffer. Bulimia is easier to treat than anorexia.
