Suboxone, and the disease Concept of Addiction
Addiction shares characteristics of many other diseases, including a treatment that will keep the disease in remission. Suboxone is not a cure but medicine offers some remedies for diseases, but most diseases are managed, similar to the management of addiction with Suboxone.

So far, this is my favorite of your videos because it tackles the huge issue of dealing with the ignorance of people and their attitudes about addiction.
I’ve been in countless arguments with people where they’ve told me that addiction is a choice and it’s hard to make them see it any other way. After watching this video, I feel I have even more ammunition against these people.

I used to be a very qualified nurse for 10 yrs. I lost everything to my addiction including my job. I’ve been an addict for 12 yrs. I will soon be going on suboxone treatment. I hope it works for me along with counseling or whatever i need. my question is are ther any resouces that will help with subx. price. It is very pricey. also i heard that there may be a generic available in the near future if so what information if any do u have on it. this is really a last hope for me. I feel like scum

Oh yeah, its just THAT simple!Go tell an obese person to stop eating and being fat and see how well that works out for you!Suboxone has saved my life when I was near death,so don’t be so quick to judge people unless you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.I wouldn’t wish my addiction on my worst enemy. And the fact that you say “can be cured”in your post just goes to show how little you know.THERE IS NO CURE FOR ADDICTION,ONLY TREATMENT!GET EDUCATED BEFORE YOU MAKE AN OPINION!THANKS!

Hmmm…… I believe the exact opposite. Most of the people who come in to my office don’t see it as a disease– they see themselves as miserable failures. THAT didn’t do a whole lot for them. I also see that the people who constantly feel ashamed of their addiction are the ones who keep going back– the ones who realize they have an illness can dump the shame and move forward. How exactly do you WANT people to think about their addiction? You don’t think they already feel bad enough?

what rot..suboxone dosent take away the desire to use-it simply stops the sickness and cravings, without giving the long term user any euphoria…So you saying wanting to feel good is a sickness?People for all time has sought to intoxicate themselves,I guess everyones sick hey Doc??sure I can appreciate that subbies help you function without injections etc..However the negative effects of ALL drugs are Placed upon the user by a dis-honest society and Draconian laws…
