In February 2008, the Vodafone Foundation and Portugal, signed at the West Lisbon Hospital Group have signed a cooperation agreement to establish a system of epilepsy in children from remote monitoring of S. Francisco Xavier Hospital Egas Moniz Hospital, and increase the number and the potential success of surgical procedures on children with epilepsy. With the introduction of this new pediatric epilepsy monitoring system, thanks to the use of mobile communication and implementation of a specially developed software that allows physicians to remotely view of these studies (V- electro-or video-EEG) on a computer or PDA at any time when, even outside the hospital.
