How do you get a whole range of massage oil out of cotton clothes?
My husband grabbed a bottle of massage oil to say without me. Jammed it under my clothes (not his of course) and the entire bottle all over a pair of khakis (98% Cotton 2% Lycra) and one of my favorite 100% cotton baseball shirts drained. I tried the shirt treated with detergent and then washing, drying, but before he knew the oil was still da.Wer know if I can save my clothes?
Hi,
As a LMT, I use oil everyday and it rarely stains, but without knowing what is in the oil, it very difficult to tell you how to remove it.
Professional massage oils are usually almond oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, and all of these should come out with warm water and detergent or cold water and enzyme (booster, oxyclean) or bleach. Unfortunately, if they used essential oils or cheap vegetable oil, it may be impossible to get out. I would try soaking in detergent first, then ammonia (not full strength), then (rinse that out first) vinegar, then oxyclean or other booster, then dry cleaning. If the stain turns colors when you put the ammonia or vinegar on, it is working and may just need to be used several times. Or maybe alternately with other methods. Just don’t mix any of the cleaners together, rinse in between each one.
