Contact lens care and examination

If you have a question about your contact lenses, you should contact your installer.

If you redness, experience blurred vision, pain or sensitivity to light, you should contact your eye doctor or optometrist in conjunction. (If he or she is not allowed by state law to treat eye problems, he or she is to you a therapist who can relate avoid these problems.) Normally you have to be seen on that day. If you need to seek help, it is best to try, with your eye doctor, while contact of the day, instead of waiting until evening or late at night.

Most eye doctors are available 24 hours a day on their answering machine. If your eye doctor is not available, you should call the eye doctor, or go to a hospital emergency room to see.

Optometrists and opticians, or may not also offer 24-hour availability. If not available, you should have the routine, if a problem develops, especially after regular store hours at the office or ask. Many have an eye doctor to whom they refer medical problems, others may tell you to go to a hospital emergency room. Recognize that emergency rooms typically not more than one ophthalmologist site.

Because of the specialized nature of eye examination equipment, contact lens problems are handled in the best eye doctor office.

Diagnosis and treatment of contact problems by a complete history and an eye examination.

During the story, you will be asked questions about your symptoms and how long you have been disturbed by these symptoms (for example, light sensitivity, redness, blurred vision). You should also be ready to be worn with your eye doctor about the type of contact lenses (soft, air permeable, or hard to tell the older lenses).

What type of home care use (cleaning, disinfecting, and rinsing solutions). This should include the exact name (owner) of solutions. The nature of the wear regime used: daily lenses, weekly wear overnight, or daily wear. How often are the glasses to be replaced (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually).

The examination of the eye includes the review of your vision (with glasses, because you have removed your contact lenses).

If your vision can not be corrected, your ophthalmologist suspect the existence of a serious problem.

Your eye doctor looks into your eyes with different types of lights, starting with a flashlight type of instrument and followed by a slit lamp (microscope, the eye with high magnification and different color lights up study).

Your doctor can be a dye called fluorescein to the eye instead. This makes abrasions and ulcers are evident.

With seemingly serious infection, the cultures of the eye removed and sent to the laboratory for analysis. Depending on the cause of the infection, specific antibiotic eye drops may be required. Rare hospitalization is required.

If you irritation, pain, blurred vision, redness or sensitivity to light, immediately remove your lenses and re-evaluate your symptoms.

Since you should not enter your contact lenses, if these problems occur, you should have an up-to-date pair of glasses for those times. With well-fitting contact lenses, you should remove your contact lenses and to look good with your glasses, essentially the same.

Blurred vision, lasting hours after the removal of the contacts is usually a sign of ill-fitting contact lenses. If you see a blur, with glasses, contact lenses, if removed, please inform your installer.
