Braintree students’ body mass index to be measured
In addition to vision and hearing tests, students will now have their body mass index (BMI) measured. BMI is a measurement of a person’s body fat based on height, weight, gender, and age. It’s used to help identify possible health risks such as being underweight, overweight, or obese. The school committee recently adopted a policy outlining the BMI screening based on a new state mandate.
