Will taking an 81. 5mg dose of aspirin every morning help prevent migraine headaches?
I have headaches at least twice a week and usually take Excedrin Migraine to treat them. I was wondering if taking a small dose of aspirin every morning might help to prevent the onset of the headaches. I send my sympathy to anyone else who has to suffer with headaches.

Probably not.
That is a very low dose of aspirin; most people who take a baby aspirin daily are taking it to lower stroke or heart attack risk (as directed by their physician – it’s not for everyone!).
Taking higher doses of over-the-counter pain medications constantly then stopping them can actually lead to something called “rebound headache,” presumably because the body adjusts to having the medication every day. For this and other reasons, it it inadvisable to take pain medicines daily without consulting a physician.

If what your experiencing is a true migrane, aspirin wont do you any good.. you need to go see a neurologist who can prescribe you a medication that you take when you feel a migrance coming on.. if you are experiencing regular headaches so frequently you shood make an appt also bc it is not normal and something must be going on.. Remember tho, if you take headache medication too frequently it can cause you to have MORE headaches so before careful and consult a doctor before you do anything

no it will not stop headaches, aspirin is very hard on the stomach a buffered low dose api8rin each day would work better. What does this do for one? it helps thin the blood and help decrease the chances of stroke or heart attack.
