What type of multivitamin is good for a toddler?
She is 2 years old. She eats well and have a good appetite. Did she really need to take a multivitamin? Sorry, has a good appetite.

My daughter is 3.5 years old and she eats what I consider to be “well balanced” too… but we still give her a daily multivitamin, just to cover in the places we might be overlooking. We give her “My First Flinstones” that are chewable and for 2-3 year olds. She loves them and we feel good giving it to her as a back-up to her healthy diet. I don’t give her the gummy ones just because I don’t give her gummy candy to begin with, we don’t like how it sticks to their teeth.

It probably isn’t necessary, you know your child best. My little boys are typical in that they go days without eating more than six bites and then eat like two full grown men for a couple of days. I give them a multivitamin with their doctor’s blessing because of their erratic eating habits (mostly for my own mental health I think). I go with Flinstones (they even have a special one for 2s and 3s). Multivitamins are usually not absorbed all that well and aren’t a good substitute for good eating. If your child is a good eater and doesn’t do any of the usual weirdness like refusing to eat for a few days, she really shouldn’t need one. Talk with her doctor about his recommendation and don’t give her a vitamin made for older kids (you will have to read carefully). Some vitamins like Vitamin A can be lethal in really high doses and cause other problems in low doses so you need to make sure she is taking a vitamin designed for her weight (important to talk to the doc). Most insurance companies will cover prescribed vitamins anyway so it would be cheaper to get a script than buy an over the counter one (unless you have an outrageous copay). Hope that helps.

If she eats good, she probably does’t need to take a multivitamin. My kids are 7 & 3 & don’t always eat good. I’ve tried different vitamins & they didn’t like any of the ones like flinstones (the type that are kind of hard). They kinda of taste nasty.
I’ve been using the Disney Winnie the Pooh MultiVitamin Gummies. They love the taste.

I’d say yes. It’s very difficult to actually get all the recommended daily vitamins, especially non-organic foods that are beoming largely hollow in the department of nutrition.
I’d recommend Nutrilite’s children’s chewable multivitamin. My son loves them, he is 3. Nutrilite is a very reputable company. It’s the only one that owns it’s own land! I love it. Oh, and my son is never sick, if that shows anything.

I like Flintstones vitamins. The only drawback is that for a young toddler (my boys are 3 and 2) they take only half, and the vits aren’t scored, so you have to break them down the middle as evenly as possible.
Other good ones are the Cars gummi vitamins. They’re nice and soft (like fruit snacks). I’ve tried the Flintstones gummis, and they’re too chewy. My kids could barely chew them!
If she has a good appetite and eats a balanced meal, I don’t really know of any good reason to give her a vitamin. It certainly wouldn’t hurt, but it would be wasting money if she’s a good eater!
