What is a simple way to account for Crohn’s disease?
I dont get what is Crohn’s disease. Can you explain in a simple way so I can understand what it is.

All you need to know about Crohn’s:
1- You’re ALWAYS in the bathroom or looking for one
2- Pain, like…if you touch my gut I’m going to kill you and do not move because it hurts
3- Your immune system attacks itself which causes the inflammation which causes the pain and the oooo where is the bathroom!
4- Barium shoots through you!
5- You’re always are tiredThat about sums up Crohn’s for you!

Ah! Something I can explain.
Crohn’s Disease is mainly in the small bowel, right in the ileocecal valve or ICV. Essentially they are sore ulcerations burrowing right down into the tissue itself. Nobody really knows what causes it yet, but I believe family history plays a big role.
Crohn’s colitis is pretty much the same, except the colon is involved.
When Crohn’s is active, I know it immediately, I get the runs, I’m tired, I have no appetite, and I hurt!

Crohn’s disease is an ongoing disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive tract, also referred to as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Crohn’s disease can affect any area of the GI tract, from the mouth to the anus, but it most commonly affects the lower part of the small intestine, called the ileum. The swelling extends deep into the lining of the affected organ. The swelling can cause pain and can make the intestines empty frequently, resulting in diarrhea.

hi, i am a female crohn’s survivor dxed at the age of 12.
Basically it’s a type of autoimmune disease (not like HIV that you can get by fooling around or swapping needles & doing drugs). The body looks upon the colon as a foreign body and tries to attack it. Here is what it says on the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America website.
