first of all i want you to know that i find it VER OFFENSIVE that you call your own mother stupid. how would you feel if you had children that would talk like that about you.
anyway, just becasue she is somewhat absent-minded does not mean she suffers from alzheimers, dementia or anything else along that line.
best advice i can give you is this:
talk to your mother about your concern’s and let her know how you feel.
in case she thinks she does not have a problem you should talk to a proffesional healthcare-provider such as your own physician and/or your mothers physician. only after that and only at the physicians advice should you take your mother to be evaluated.
never ever again call your mother stupid because one day you very well be in the same position -

You need to re-word your question….surely you were not intending to sound as disrespectful as it reads.
Forgetfullness is a normal sign of aging. Only a visit to a Neurologist would help determine if it is Alzheimers. There are brain scans and other test that can confirm the diag, if the Doctor thinks she is symptomatic of Alzheimers.

Shes not stupid, shes your mother, the woman who gave you life. try not to forget that. My mom is 55 and she is starting to get weird too. Be patient and nice to her. Life is so short and when you have 20 years or so left, you’ll be hoping your kids don’t get irritated with you if you start to get forgetful beyond your control. Imagine how she feels when she remembers and realizes she is getting old and is forgeting stuff.

You should take her to the doctors as it could be the first signs of both dementia and Alzheimer’s. People can develop Alzheimer’s as young as 30 though it’s rare at that age so I would check with her doctor. There is medication they can give her to slow the progress of the disorder if started quickly.

She needs to be evaluated. Take her to the doctors to find out what needs to be done. No, this is not a normal process of growing old.
