There are numerous meds for migraines, and finding one that works is trial and error. It’s not unusual for people to try several different prescriptions before finding one that works and which doesn’t have unacceptable side effects. It wouldn’t hurt to call your docs office and ask if you could try a different med. If the doc has seen you recently, he/she is likely to send a prescription to your pharmacy without requiring another office visit.
Hey, I have migraines too. Ever since I was put on Zoloft I can’t take Imitrex anymore. So instead I have to work around it. Ice packs do wonders. Right on your neck or on your eyes, or even on teh top of your head where migraines usually are. Also, avoid foods like wine, aged cheese, and chocolate. Stuff like Chinese food with lots of MSG is a major trigger for migraines, too. Find a dark, cold, quiet place to lie down like your bedroom. Sleep and time work best in the end, though a little tylenol and ibuprofen can help take the edge off. Good luck!
Try a netty pot! They do wonders!
