How much glucosamine (mg) is contained in a serving of dog foods that contain it eg Science Diet Large Breed?
I’ve read that roughly 500mg of Glucosamine per day can help a dog (varies by size) — I wondered if the dog foods that advertise that they contain glucosamine contain anywhere near this amount per serving. I heard that they don’t, but dog foods I saw don’t give very detailed nutritional inforamation.

They may or they may not. Since it is not considered a vital nutrient the dosage is not regulated, even though some companies put the amounts on the bad. Also, most dog foods do not contain enough to do any good.
If you dog is having joint problems, I would recommend Cosequin. It is a glucosamine/chondroitan supplement that I have had very good luck with and it is what my vet recommends.

Science diet is not a very good quality food. Some good brand foods are Wellness, Canidae, Innova EVO, Timber Wolf Organics, etc.
