Any recommendations for a glucosamine supplement?
My 10-year-old dog was recently diagnosed with the beginning stages of arthritis in her lower spine and my vet told me to get her started on a good glucosamine supplement but she really didn’t recommend any particular brand or anything. So I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a brand that they’ve used. Or does it even really matter?

I use Platinum Performance CJ, it’s a supplement powder that you mix in with the dog’s food daily. I have three senior labs (an almost 10 yrs. old and two 11 yrs. old), all with very mild arthritis and this has helped reduce the pain and gets them up and running in no time especially in the morning. It did take a couple weeks for it to see results though. It is a little pricey, I get a 10 pound tub, but it lasts me for a little more than 3 months for all my dogs.
There are also tablets of glucosamine/chondroitin supplements probably available at your vet office that are much cheaper. I used to use something called Chondro-flex (maker is Vitality Systems) for my dogs.
