What is the relationship of gallbladder disease with specially treated celiac disease?
I have searched for articles on the subject and the literature shows studies done on untreated celiac disease. I am a proven celiac disease and I have followed up a strict gluten-free diet for the last almost 6 years. I also have identical symptoms only in the middle of the night with the one represented by the term “colic.” Ulstrasound is negative. Any suggestions how to go from here?
Taking care of Celiac Disease doesn’t preclude you from having another problem that may be unrelated to celiac disease. I would approach this on two fronts I think. First, get blood work to see if you are having any gluten antibodies that would indicate that you are getting some hidden gluten from somewhere and it is time to check all of your “safe” foods for changes in ingredients etc. The other things to check is cholesterol levels. I historically had low cholesterol and in the last year have seen it go up(maybe due to better digestion). So if your cholesterol is high, go on a low fat diet as much as possible and try a cholesterol lowering medicine just like a non celiac. There are some more tests in the reference I put in. Good luck and hope you find the culprit.
